Since moving an hour and ten minutes away from where I’ve lived most of my life, I’ve experienced miracle upon miracle. On my first day here while working at my desk which faces a beautiful sanctuary of trees and wildlife, I was visited by 3 male cardianls and 2 females. I have had several encounters with them now in the months I’ve been here.
Grateful.
Today, I was cooking my food for the week and filling my containers. I heard a bird singing outside. Nothing unusual. What was unusual was I was “pulled” to go to the window. I stopped what I was doing (I listen to intuition today) and went to the window. I didn’t see anything but I thought of my cardinals. I kneeled down, I took in a deep breath, held my palms upward toward the blue sky and closed my eyes. I mediated for a few moments and asked my cardinal to come. I waited.
After about a minute or two I saw him. There he was up in the tree, looking at me.
I was profoundly moved. I enjoyed the few moments we shared looking at each other, being aware of each other. I enjoyed this moment of connection.
As I got up from my knees Universe placed this thought into my awareness.

The experience I described in the previous section happened on a Sunday evening. I was getting ready to speak on the 10th step on a Big Book Step Study Zoomer in West Palm, FL. I love these meetings. I was trying to find the perfect picture to put next to the story. I tried several, none of them felt right, none of them worked. I was getting frustrated and I really wanted to finish this story before the meeting. Just as I was about to give up, I look out the window at the trees. There he was, just sitting there, hanging out. Oh my gosh. A perfect picuture, hand delivered by the Universe at just the right time. And what a perfect picture it is!
